I returned from Indiana to Tennessee after a bicycle ride. I thought I was getting a bug as my throat was sore. Tried to do a race Saturday and really felt horrible. Took a shower and was broken out. Running a fever and didn’t sleep well. Called dr Schubert Sunday morning on his cell phone and met him at his office. He scheduled tests and when I came back Monday they were all negative.… See more

My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
Most agree that the best way to maintain your car is not to drive it until it doesn’t run anymore, and then see if it can be fixed. This is unfortunately a very common approach to taking care ourselves; many of us take no time to reflect on our health until we're sick. Our current healthcare system is based on this concept as well, which is why I chose to become an MDVIP-affiliated physician. Now, I have the time to care for you personally and proactively, which are the keys to helping you enjoy the healthiest life possible.
I am double board certified in Family Medicine and Clinical Lipidology. I focus on the early diagnosis and aggressive treatment of cardiovascular disease (the most common cause of disability and death in the United States). My expertise lies in diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems and additional causes of strokes, heart attacks and other forms of vascular disease. I use advanced diagnostics, including genetic testing, inflammatory markers, imaging and advanced particle analysis to find vascular disease early, allowing me adequate time to work with each patient to develop a specialized treatment plan. You can’t treat everyone's needs the same way. That is the value of MDVIP’s model of personalized medicine. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time.
We can now better find potentially deadly illnesses before symptoms emerge. This is a major focus of my practice - prevention. The best path to a longer, healthier life is through a healthier lifestyle, avoiding disease and seeking early detection. This cannot be done passively. As a private doctor, I help my patients become active, informed participants in their own healthcare, and I believe the close partnerships I share with my patients is critical to them being well and staying well.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Schubert
Dr. Schubert: Happy National Doctor's Day! To us, you are the "BEST" doctor to us. You always make time for us and we know you care about our health. Thank you for being who you are, A GREAT DOCTOR. Hugs to you
Dr. Robert Schubert found the medication that allows me to sleep at night. I suffered from chronic insomnia for 50 years and usually slept only slept 3 to 4 hours a night or even not at all! I had tried many different sleep medications and even went to a sleep clinic and none of the medications really worked until Dr. Schubert found one that does. I am now retired and often sleep 8 to 10… See more
I was disappointed when Dr. Trotter retired but decided to give Dr. Schubert a try. It has been a very wise decision. One latest case in point is when I returned from a trip with severe leg pain. At my visit when returning home Dr. Schubert focused in on my problem (a bad disk) and sent me for an MRI that day. They next day I was contacted by his referral to a spine doctor and had an… See more
I met Dr. Schubert for the first time in October, 2017. I was interviewing a couple of Physicians to continue my concierge health coverage which I liked. He was outgoing in our interview and I felt he was very qualified to assist me in keeping my good health. As a cardio type Doctor I felt this was the kind of practice I would benefit most from here in Hilton Head.

Dr. Schubert and his team are a wonderful practice to rely upon for healthcare. Dr. Schubert is attentive, open, and willing to think outside the box when necessity requires it. The dedication and thoroughness this office puts towards caring for their patients is commendable, and very much appreciated.
I moved to Hilton Head, SC a few weeks ago from Washington DC and signed up with MD VIP program here and with Dr. Robert Schubert. That was the best health decision of my life as my number one health problem I have faced in the past and face today is heart disease.

I'm not used to having such a wonderful doctor, who not only wants me to call him any time, but encourages it, as was the case recently . It just shows that he has his patients best interest at heart. Never rushed, never a wait, always thorough,
always patient and understanding. I couldn't ask for a better doctor.
