My 73 year old husband has a health care plan which requires a PSA test annually. Five months ago his test score, while still well under the "danger" mark, jumped faster than in the past. The doctor at M. D. Anderson scheduled another PSA test 6 weeks later which showed a higher mark than before, and he wanted to do a MRI. My husband was hesitant. He felt fine and had no pain. I suggested that he talk in person with our doctor, Julia Hope. I trust Dr. Hope completely, and thought that she would offer good advice. Dr. Hope told my husband that her father had felt the same way when he had climbing PSA scores. She told my husband that she urged her father to have additional tests and the MRI. He did and it saved his life. My husband became more resolute, and followed all the instructions of M.D. Anderson completely.
We are so very happy. My husband had surgery, the cancer was removed, and his cancer is gone! Thank you Dr. Hope!
