A Trusted, Watchful Eye
My husband and I have travelled the journey of Parkinson’s for over 25 years.. For years he navigated the disease, working full time and circling the world professionally and pleasurably. As the years progressed he slowed down and Parkinson’s symptoms affected more of his daily routine. Now dementia and hallucinations have taken hold and new medications have been prescribed by his neurologist.
As his full time caregiver I was nervous about these new prescriptions and sought out the advice of Dr. Ruth Eckert, our MDVIP primary care doctor. I called the office on Friday morning, spoke with the nurse asking for Dr. Eckert’s opinion. At 8:15 pm, on that Friday night, I got a personal phone call from Dr. Ruth and spoke in length about these medications and both my husband’s and my health. She had researched thoroughly both medications.
Both my husband and I were very impressed and grateful for her attention. We certainly realize how important Dr. Eckert’s role is for us. We always appreciate her caring and attentiveness.
