Thanks, Dr. Smith, for giving me peace of mind. At my last appointment to follow up on lab work, we had time to talk about other concerns. We discussed the occasional pain in my finger and joint of my right hand, which you said was caused by inflammation of the sheath that surrounds the tendon (medical term tenosynovitis). I was relieved to know that it was not rheumatoid arthritis and it was not serious, but bothersome. You told me that a steroid injection may help when it becomes more of a problem. It is comforting to know I can call you anytime, and you can arrange an appointment with a hand specialist.
With my imagination, I thought it was arthritis or something worse that I would just have to live with. Thanks for taking the time to explain the cause of the pain, and reassuring me that something can be done when it is time!
