Out of This World!

About a year and a half ago, I woke up early on a Saturday morning feeling really icky and painfully itchy “below the equator.” I took a peek with my trusty magnified mirror and discovered a few reddish and blistery bumps. I had taken the shingles shingrix shot a few years ago and thought to myself that this was not shingles. But this was really uncomfortable! Of course, this happened on the weekend…Saturday! I decided to call my doctor, Julie Fox, anyway since I had the feeling that this was only going to get worse. I waited til 8 am and then I made the call. Within 5 minutes, Dr. Fox called me back. She mentioned that she was out of the country…and in another time zone. I described my problem. She thought it might be shingles but to make sure, could I email her a picture of the red bumps. My husband flew into action and snapped the picture! She promised me that this would not appear on the internet! Thank goodness! Within 10 minutes, she decided it was shingles and she called my neighborhood pharmacy and ordered a prescription…and this…from out of the country and overseas!! By 9:30 am I had my meds and within a day or so began to feel better. What a doc!!! What a superb response. She could have sent me to Urgent Care. Instead, I received “Superb Care” from her…Thank you, Dr. Fox!!!
