Mike coveny
My husband and I have been patients of Dr, Chaconas for more than twenty years. He helped my husband Mike Coveny with several health conditions. Dr Chaconas was always my first call to his office or to his home. On this particular early morning my husband had an early appointment with his monitor physical therapist. He needed to get up early to be ready for the appointment. I had roused him so he would be awake when the coffee finished brewing. I went into our bedroom to check on him and I found him still and not moving in the bed. I tried to help him up but he didn’t have the strength to get up. So I called Dr Chaconas to see if I needed to take him by car or rescue squad to the hospital 45 miles away. He was very reassuring when he told me there was no way I was going to be able to get him in the car by myself so I needed to call the rescue squad to get him to the hospital.
My husband was in the hospital during Covid but he didn’t have it. After 23 days in the hospital he died from his severe lung conditions on December 23. Soon after I had a visit with him and he told me that his lung doctor had only given him a 50-50 chance of survival. That was never shared to me by the lung specialist so I was appreciative of Dr Chaconas sharing that with me at that time. I’m so appreciative of his ability to be reached at my time.
