I'm Still Alive!
I was running 3 miles a day but I could not get my body to go any further, no matter how I changed my training regime. During my annual MD VIP check-up, Dr. Ramon Solis noticed a heart murmur and thought it was serious enough to direct me to a cardiologist and then the cardiologist sent me to a surgeon. The surgeon thought it was serious enough to recommend immediate surgery! - I had a very leaky valve replaced with a tissue valve from a donor cow and now am as good as new and back to running!
As I had no other medical conditions and was not taking medications, I was reluctant to even take low-dose aspirin. A year after surgery Dr. Solis was concerned that I wasn't even taking low-dose aspirin and he said to me "as a brother you should take them." He is not my brother, but with a recommendation like that, how could I not at least take low-dose aspirin - so I do!
I have been with Dr. Solis for over 25 years and he knows me very well, this is important as my body ages. I think he knows best how to keep it running well.
He is always available when I need him! He's the best!
