My doctor was aware of my hernia. He had referred me to a specialist but I had not acted on the recommendation for surgery. At 11:00 one Saturday night the hernia blew out and it was very painful. I pushed it back in, as the doctor had done. My wife called him and he picked up the phone immediately. He walked me through what to do and called me the next morning to check on me and to plan for seeing the surgeon on Monday. There have been other occasions when I have had concerns and he has called me promptly. His communication is excellent and we feel well cared for.
