Since I was younger than I can remember I have had bronchitis twice a year, sometimes progressing to pneumonia. Into my 40s I started to have bronchitis every time I caught any sort of respiratory virus.

My then doctor began to refuse me prescriptions for antibiotics, steroids, or cough medicine containing any sort of narcotics...antibiotics for fear of promoting antibiotic resistant microbes, steroids just because they can cause problems, and cough medicines with narcotics for fear I would become addicted. I would be sick and coughing for a period of months.

That's all fine from in theory, but in practice I would be dead now.

I met Dr. Rosenbaum immediately after having this conversation as a walk in. He immediately saw the situation for what it was and said we need to get you on some antibiotics, steroids, and some cough control medication. I was better within weeks, not months.

I joined MDVIP with him shortly thereafter.

Since then, we have worked together to come up with a game plan that is both aggressive and creative to deal with my recurrent respiratory problems. While I have been sick with not less than a dozen respiratory viruses since then, this plan has cut my sick time from several months per event, to about 2 weeks each.

Frankly, it has saved my job, and potentially my life.
