Breast Cancer Diagnosis 2021

While wintering in Florida, I had a routine mammogram that discovered possible breast cancer. Jupiter Medical Center performed a biopsy and confirmed a malignant tumor. My first reaction was to head ‘home’ to my primary care physician in Ct. Dr. Rosemary Bontempi. I trust her council so much that in spite of excellent medical care here in Jupiter Florida, I chose to have surgery and follow up radiation under the care and recommendations of Dr Bontempi. She has time to sympathetically discuss options and she always follows up, no matter what other physicians are involved in my care.
I have heard the Hartford Healthcare System is considering dropping their relationship with MDVIP because it’s doesn’t fit their current corporate “platform”. It is a terrible shame that healthcare has been overtaken by corporations with bloated executive suites and extensive management organizational structure that has more to do with corporate care than health care.
I am very sorry to hear that Dr. Bontempi is retiring and I sincerely hope that I will be able to continue my relationship with MDVIP in Connecticut.
