Above and Beyond!
One Friday evening in 2021, about 7:30 pm, my wife was sitting on the edge of our fairly high poster-bed attempting to get down via the steps on the side. Whether it was socks, or something else, she slid off the steps and went headfirst into the nightstand. While she didn't think it was serious, after looking at it, I knew otherwise. Not knowing exactly what to do, ER or urgent care, I called Dr. Parsons. He said to meet him in his office immediately. It was going on 8:00 pm and, of course, his office was closed for the weekend. Dr. Parsons carefully inspected, cleaned and sutured the wound with several sutures. To the delight of my wife, he did this without cutting her hair off. I would guess he doesn't do a lot of suturing as part of his normal practice; however, you can hardly see any trace of where my wife split open her skull that evening. This is but one example of the care we've received from Dr. James S. Parsons for over thirty years. Not only is he our family's doctor, but he is also our family's friend.
He routinely provides that extra level of personal attention.
For example, decades ago when our daughter was on a cruise in the Carribean, she had an attack of Bell's palsy. We didn't know what we were dealing with, so we called Dr. Parsons. He asked that she call him. Over the phone, he was able to diagnose the condition and arrange for a prescription to be available to her at a local pharmacy in the Carribean.
On another occasion, one Saturday evening, my wife had severe pains in her abdomen. Again, we called Dr. Parsons. Sunday morning the pain got worse, and Dr. Parsons sent us to the ER. Her visit to the ER eventually led to emergency surgery that Sunday afternoon to remove her gall bladder. On Sunday, after her surgery, Dr. Parsons visited her in the hospital.
Of course, we get the same level of attention and care when we have our more routine issues and our annual/wellness exams. We dread the day Dr. Parsons retires. The decades we have known him have been very special to our family. We wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
Thank you, Dr. Parsons!!
