My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My internal medicine practice is in Newtown, Connecticut. I have been a primary care doctor for more than 20 years. As a personal physician, I realize that asking a patient, “How are you doing?” takes time to answer. I have more time to listen and discuss what matters to you. My goal is more personalized, integrated care focused on you and your individual health needs. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.

Waiting and feeling rushed are two things that I believe should not happen in a medical office. Because my practice is smaller in size, it allows for same- or next-day appointments, phone calls that are answered by a person and, most importantly, visits that are relaxed and not rushed whenever you are sick or just concerned. My patients can come in for an appointment or they can call me (even when traveling). We want to take care of you.

My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in traditional medicine practices. Those services are included in  the annual MDVIP Wellness Program. The lab findings and test results can help provide a clearer picture of your health, and with this information, we can work together to customize a care plan just for you. I have seen many patients become more engaged, and as a result, they have the ability to work toward being healthier. In many cases, we can even measure the improvements.

Other benefits include the opportunity to reach me, your personal physician, after hours along with care for members’ dependents (ages 18-26). We also offer 30-minute routine or sick visits.

I am excited to have more time and focused energy aimed at helping you improve your health and your life.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Friedman

from Dana A in CT February 28, 2018 for Jeffrey P. Friedman, MD

Dr. Friedman's, professional knowledge, and patience is what impressed us most on finding a new Dr. in our area after a move from N.C. He has a gentle way and simply takes the time to explain and comfort our concerns. We never feel rushed as he focuses on us 100. Getting an appointment and x-rays after a recent fall the same day with results also helped us know he is there for us.… See more

from Barbara in CT February 27, 2018 for Jeffrey P. Friedman, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Friedman for about 30 years. He has cared for me through many health issues, some serious and others just run of the mill colds or sinus infections. I have always felt he had my best interests at heart and has always taken a lot of time with me. Most recently he diagnosed a case of shingles in my ear just as the rash began. I question if many other doctors would… See more

from David in CT February 26, 2018 for Jeffrey P. Friedman, MD

I have had the good fortune of being a patient of Dr Friedman's for over 25 years. Even after moving almost a hour from his office, I continue to see Dr. Friedman. He has always been a caring and responsive physician and knows what it means and takes to be an excellent doctor. I recently had 2 occasions to reach out to him (both on weekends) and he was immediately available and responsive… See more

My yearly physical with Dr Friedman was more extensive once he partnered with MDVIP and as a result was able to spend plenty of time with me. I spend the winter in Florida and this past January I was coughing and was congested, not the flu but caught something from my children and grand kids when they came to visit. Thats the last time theyre coming!!! By way of texting and with phone calls… See more

This past weekend (9/16 -9/17) I had a medical issue relating to a cardiac concern. Called my MDVIP physician (Dr. Friedman) and he immediately answered his cell phone and directed me to the closest hospital ER room. He was also available all weekend long and luckily for me all the tests and results ended up very positively after an overnight in the hospital. Cannot say enough about his… See more

Dr Friedman has already gone above and beyond helping us with a variety of health issues. He goes out of his way to be accessible and make us feel comfortable . His friendly and welcoming manner always puts us at ease.
.Having a doctor, that we can contact immediately for matters large and small is a real comfort for my husband and me..
