My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As a primary care physician, I am committed to helping you and all of my patients live fuller, happier and healthier lives. In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, I make sure every patient receives all of the time and one-on-one attention required for me to respond to his or her unique health needs. Practicing good medicine includes a partnership between doctor and patient. I enjoy coaching patients through health issues and concerns so they fully understand their health and my proposed treatment plans. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time. No matter what life stage or general health condition you find yourself in, we will work together to formulate a personalized wellness plan that puts you in charge of your health and maximizes quality of life through every chapter of your life.

Dr. David Cunningham is the name of my MDVIP doctor today however, Dave was not my doctor back in the Spring of 2021 where my story begins. My brother had Dr. Cunningham as his MDVIP doctor and I was a former patient of his at the time. I was going through a very rough patch back in 2021 and my brother reached out to Dr. Cunningham for a few reasons on my behalf. Because Dr. Cunningham had a… See more

Dr David is a wonderful physician! He has a great bedside manner and is very caring to his patients. I will never forget when he called to tell me my PSA level was elevated. He made a appointment for me with a great neurologist who discovered that I had prostate cancer. I had my prostate removed and I have been cancer free for 3 years. If it were not for Dr. Cunningham, I may not be writing… See more

from Nicholas in RI February 11, 2024 for David F. Cunningham, MD

Back in 2016 I needed surgery on my lower back. As my PCP Dr. Cunningham asked me to come see him and recommended the neurosurgeon that he felt was the most skilled in this type of procedure. In addition he helped expedite the whole process so that I was able to get my surgery as soon as possible and therefore alleviate my suffering quicker. During my encounter with the neurosurgeon and… See more

Under the current healthcare system where doctors see upwards of 30 patients a day, primary care doctors don’t have enough time to concentrate on an individual’s overall health goals and needs. Dr. David Cunningham says, “You have so little time because you’re always putting out fires. You don’t… See more
